Entry #2. Why Communication Matters

Something I see all the time is how fast things can go wrong just because people don’t communicate. It doesn’t matter if it’s in school, at work, or even with friends—when people don’t say what they mean or leave you guessing, it just makes everything harder. For me, I’d rather someone be straight up, even if it’s not exactly what I want to hear. In group projects, if nobody says what part they’re doing, the whole thing gets messy. At work, when directions aren’t clear, you waste time fixing mistakes that could’ve been avoided. And honestly, it’s the same in relationships—bad communication turns small stuff into big drama real quick. Even movies highlight this. Avatar is a good example where so much of the conflict comes from people not listening or understanding each other. Once the characters start actually communicating and finding ways to connect, the whole story shifts. I think that’s why the new Avatar is so exciting—it’s not just about the action or the effects, it’s also abou...

Entry #1. Learning About Blogs

Before this class I never really paid attention to blogs. I didn’t think they had much to offer, but after clicking through a few I realized every blog has its own vibe. Some are super personal, some are more professional, and others just feel plain. Reading them actually gave me ideas for how I want mine to be. One blog I really liked was Life Well Wandered . It mixes travel stories with mental health and lifestyle, and the way it’s written feels calm but still personal. The pictures are nice without being overwhelming, and I liked how organized it was. It didn’t feel like it was trying too hard, which made me enjoy reading it. Another blog that stood out was Travel and Keep Fit . I’d put this one in the middle for me. I liked the idea of traveling and staying active at the same time, but some of the posts felt repetitive. The layout is clean and the categories are easy to click through though, so I can’t say it was bad. It just didn’t pull me in as much as I thought it would. A...

Just Me

Image
Hi, I’m Jenna! Life keeps me pretty busy with school and work, but I honestly don’t mind it. Having things to focus on keeps me motivated, and even when it gets stressful, I push myself because I know it’ll pay off later. I like proving to myself that I can handle a lot and still move forward. One of my favorite things is hot yoga and pilates. They keep me active and healthy, but they also give me a way to slow down and clear my head. I like how it feels like a mix between working out and taking care of myself mentally. I’m also into photography because it’s a way to capture little details and moments that stand out to me. I’ve always been the type of person who notices things other people might overlook, and photography lets me put that part of me into something creative. I would say one of my biggest pet peeves is when people don’t communicate. I’d rather someone be upfront with me than leave me stuck guessing. I like honesty, even if it’s not always what I want to hear. Some...
